Joachim von Braun

Joachim von Braun is Professor for Economic and Technological Change and a Director of the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at Bonn University, Germany. He served as Co-Chair of the German Bioeconomy Council and is an initiator of the Global Bioeconomy Summits. He is Chair of the Scientific Group for the UN Secretary General’s Food Systems Summit, President of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences at the Vatican. von Braun is further Board member of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), and of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), and he is Vice President of Welthungerhilfe.
