Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand

Don Pramudwinai was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand in 2015. Since August 2020, he assumes another concurrent position as the Deputy Prime Minister. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1974. A career diplomat for his entire working life, he served as Thailand’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Holy See and Liechtenstein (1994-1999); China, North Korea and Mongolia (2000-2004); the EU, Belgium, and Luxembourg (2004-2007); the UN, New York (2007-2009); and the US (2009). He is an alumnus of UCLA and the Fletcher School at Tufts University. He practices Muay Thai in his free time.
